This opportunity gives you real-world experience and allows you to put the skills you learn on the course to practical use. Placements can be with local, national or international firms. Recent placement providers have included Vauxhall Motors, Metropolitan Police, Intel Corporation and Hilton Worldwide. Full support is given to help you find the placement that is best for you. This is a great opportunity to build the confidence, creativity and responsibility that will be invaluable in your final year of study.**Live projects**Throughout your course you will work on live projects with real clients that are sourced mainly by specialist teams at Sheffield Hallam University.In your final year, you put the employability skills developed through these projects and your placement year to good use by working in a team on a live consultancy project. You’ll be given a specific task or problem by a client, and present back to them your results and suggestions.**Networking opportunities**There are a range of opportunities throughout your studies to build contacts and network. These could include acting as a student ambassador or representative, working with real clients, joining the award-winning Finance Society or attending guest lectures.Industry qualifications and skillsThis course gives you the opportunities to gain extra qualifications as you move through your course.These include the globally-recognised CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting at the end of Year 1 (depending on results), and the industry-recognised SAGE and Microsoft Excel qualifications in Year 2.Electives in your second and final years allow you to specialise in digital skills, fraud and forensic investigations or further financial techniques. This flexibility means you are prepared for a wide range of careers.
