Course summary

This programme offers a next step after completing an 8-week course, and an opportunity to develop your learning in the area of your professional activity, whatever it may be. You will consider how mindfulness informed approaches to well-being might enhance personal, organisational and wider community ways of being in the 21st Century. Although it is online learning, weekly practice drop-in sessions are designed to create a sense of community amongst students, wherever you are based.

Course Overview

The programme focuses on key areas of personal practice, compassion-based practice and culture and communities.

It starts with the individual, in the context of their workplace, expands to consider a compassion-based approach and then widens to encompass culture and communities, with sustainability as a focus throughout.

It engages with the good practice and integrity that informs approaches to mindfulness, as well as the wider political agenda where mindfulness seeks to inform policy.

The programme connects theory, practice and consideration of professional impact to enhance both personal and workplace well-being.

Assessment

There are no examinations in this programme of study. Assessments are designed to enable students demonstrate their academic understanding in the context of personal development and professional activity. They will constitute some of the following:

  • Reflective essays
  • Written assignments
  • Presentation
