Course summary

Please note that due to COVID-19, this course will initially be delivered via a blended learning approach, which may include face-to-face learning in the classroom, remote learning off-campus and digital learning. When delivery is taking place on-campus, there will be reduced student numbers and physical distancing measures in place.

This exciting course will develop knowledge and skills in sound production with the aim of preparing successful candidates for progression to university and/or a wide range of careers including recording studio engineering, music production, live sound and audio post production.

Using the College's state-of-the-art facilities, students will develop a solid 'hands on' understanding of the latest digital technologies, as well as industry standard analogue classics, giving them the opportunity to become skilled in a wide range of current sound production practices and techniques. Creativity and employability will be enhanced through working on a wide variety of practical projects, while essential underpinning business knowledge in working in the sound production field, will be developed through contextualised individual and group learning. Past students have gained employment with the BBC, SECC, recording studios and audio visual companies.
