Course summary

This project investigates the design and implementation of a privacy-preserving architecture for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) leveraging mobile, flexible, and decentralised edge computing. The goal is to enhance data privacy, security, and system availability by distributing computing resources closer to the data sources - vehicles and roadside units. The student will explore edge computing frameworks suitable for highly dynamic vehicular environments and develop mechanisms to ensure secure data transmission, anonymisation, and resilience against attacks or node failures. The final output will include a prototype demonstrating secure data handling in a simulated VANET environment, supported by a performance and security evaluation.
