Course summary

Course Overview

Designed for adults, the course will provide the opportunity to achieve an equivalence of 3 ‘A’ Levels so that you can progress to higher level courses in further education or to university. You will have to commit to a high degree of independent study and reading, studying up to nine subjects, four are compulsory (five if you don’t hold a GCSE Grade C in Mathematics) and four are chosen by you from a range of available options. Students should preferably have a GCSE English Grade C or equivalent, and will also be asked to demonstrate a level of literacy and numeracy. Students without this will be expected to undertake an Essential Skills Level 2 literacy qualification in conjunction with their Access course.

Further Study Completing this course will enable you to apply for higher education courses with us or at University, in a range of subject areas. These include: social work, law, teaching, nursing, computing, business, youth work, psychology. This qualification also provides opportunities for progression to a Higher Level Apprenticeship – a number of which are available for application through NWRC. This qualification can also be helpful when seeking employment.

Your Future Career Past graduates from this programme have progressed into a range of career pathways following further study, such as Nursing, Social Work, Teaching, Law, Business and Accountancy, Travel & Tourism Management, IT, Counselling and Journalism.
