Your studies will start with a focus on learning the core aspects of financial and management accounting such as the statement of financial position (balance sheet), the statement of profit or loss (income statement), as well as making sure you have the required level of mathematical knowledge to support financial analysis. The course will also give you a broad introduction to management, business and organisation, as modern business needs individuals who can think critically about managing and who appreciate what work means for employees. You will strengthen your abilities in preparing key financial statements and use IT to support and improve your essential quantitative techniques for developing models and presenting data. You will examine business strategy and activities, including a virtual business game simulation that will provide you with the opportunity to put the theory you've been learning on the course into practice.
