**Course summary*** Top up your existing accounting and finance qualifications to a full undergraduate degree.* Use case studies and real-world economic data to illustrate examples, applying them to the real world, taught concepts and ideas.* Develop practical skills and business understanding alongside academic knowledge, allowing you to progress to masters study.Suitable if you have a foundation degree, HND or equivalent in accounting or finance, this course gives you a broad understanding of both accounting and finance within the business environment, suitable for a wide range of careers and allowing you to build on previous studies and experience.**How you learn**You will be introduced to the main principles of accounting and will become familiar with the business environment companies work in. You'll also deepen your understanding of the role and scope of finance. We use a balanced approach between theory and practice to understand both accounting and finance from different perspectives using teaching staff who have worked in industry and practice.You learn through- coursework- computer-based assignments- group assessments- presentations- time constrained exercises- multiple choice tests- case study assessments**Applied learning****Live projects**Throughout the course you are provided with real-life context to the topics you cover and by requiring you to use skills such as independent research, teamwork and presentations. This is done through case studies, real-life examples and scenarios which engage you in the study and evaluation of industry sectors and develop key skills such as literacy, critical thinking, personal organisation, and time management.We are one of only a few universities to invest in Bloomberg Terminals housed in a dedicated Bloomberg Suite. The terminals deliver data, news and analytics to global financial professionals and you have the opportunity to gain practical experience of using this industry-standard technology.
