Course summary
This course will equip you with the skills, techniques, and knowledge needed for a career in theatre and screen.
As part of this course, you’ll:
Study a skills-led acting curriculum that will introduce you to various performance disciplines through live and mediated platforms
Be exposed to multicultural approaches to acting techniques
Be encouraged to critically reflect on your skills to become a creative, intelligent, and culturally sensitive acting professional
Have practical opportunities to work with experienced practitioners in theatre including actor-trainers, acting professionals, directors and performers
Learn through practical projects, workshops, lectures, and performances
Prepare for acting in the 21st Century

Teaching & Learning
Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to the specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.

On graduation from this course, you’ll be prepared for a range of career paths in the creative industry. You’ll have the skills necessary to pursue careers in traditional theatre productions, film and games acting, as well as directing, arts administration, and producing.
