: The only acting course in the UK to offer fully integrated film production opportunities working in collaboration with filmmakers, makeup and costume artists as part of the world-renowned Bournemouth Film School (accredited by CILECT and Screenskills).
State-of-the-Art Film Studio: Our unrivalled BFS Film Studio complex which, at over 20,000 square feet, has been used by the British Film Institute for its own development programmes.
Collaboration with Industry Professionals: Opportunities to work with graduates and industry partners on our groundbreaking BFS Funding Futures scheme.
Stage Production Opportunities: Opportunities to work on stage productions in our art deco Palace Court Theatre and on a variety of exciting projects and exercises with students across multiple disciplines.
What To ExpectDive deep into the heart of acting with an immersive, hands-on curriculum. Our practical, portfolio-driven approach ensures that you master a range of established techniques in relation to text, character and performance, alongside the core disciplines of movement, voice, and singing. Three dynamic themes run through each level: a methodological approach to actor training, engaging media training, and the exciting role of the actor as both creator and innovator. Cultivating Career-Ready SkillsYour journey is not just about your university experiences it's about building a future. Learn to navigate the realms of film, audio, digital media and stage performance, and explore various pathways tailored to your career aspirations. Between your second and third year of study, you have the option of taking a Professional Placement Year. You take charge of securing your own placement, with guidance from your course team. Once you're here and studying with us, the course team will discuss the placement options with you, so when the time comes, you can make a decision that's right for you. By the end of your course, you will:
