Actuarial Science (with Foundation Year) BSc (Hons)

The Foundation Year is a one-year full-time programme that provides an entry route to the BSc Actuarial Science for UK and EU students. The Foundation Year is designed to prepare you for the subjects that will be covered in more depth throughout the rest of your degree. This course is delivered by Cass Business School. Part of City, University of London, Sir John Cass Business School is one of Europe’s leading business schools and is ranked amongst the top 20 business schools in Europe (1). The Foundation Year in Actuarial Science aims to provide students with a knowledge of Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Accounting and Finance, Economics, IT and Computing sufficient to enable them to undertake an undergraduate degree in the area of Actuarial Science. The Foundation Year will lead on to the BSc Actuarial Science degree. However, the Foundation Year is identical to that for the BSc Accounting and Finance degree and so you may be able to transfer onto the BSc Accounting and Finance degree on successful completion of the Foundation Year. It should be noted though that you will not be able to transfer onto any of the other undergraduate programmes at Cass Business School. If you wish to study the BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science at Cass, but do not satisfy the entry requirements, the Foundation course can provide students with an entry route onto the programme.(1) Financial Times European Business School Ranking 2019
