OVERVIEW

The MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Neonatal/Child/Adult/Mental Health) provides an opportunity for you as a health or social care professional (nurses and allied health professionals) to explore this developing role.

You will explore dimensions of advanced practice through the four pillars of:

  • Advanced Practice: Clinical Practice

  • Facilitation of Learning & Evidence
  • Research and Development

The MSc is designed to educational principles which reflect the expertise of students and accommodates their motivation to learn. This is achieved through online and blended teaching and learning approaches that encourage autonomous, independent learning.

Through innovative assessments strategies, you will be encouraged to reflect on your learning and to share your experience further, providing an opportunity for inter-professional learning within the academic setting.

Professional Approval and Accreditation

Prescribing in Advanced Practice module enables registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Placement Opportunities

Our Advanced Clinical Practice module is based within your own clinical area and requires 200 hours of advanced practice to be demonstrated.

Employment Requirements

You should normally be currently employed as an advanced clinical practitioner or have secured a trainee/seconded position in an advanced clinical practitioner role, in order to complete the assessment requirements of the modules in this course.
