Course summary

Do you want to play your part in shaping the future of health and social care? Do you want to drive and implement Value-Based systems; where health, social care, third sector and life science work hand-in-hand to create the best outcomes possible for patients and service users as well as the bottom line?

There is a growing requirement for health and social care systems to adopt a value-based capability; in order to lead organisational and system-wide transformation. The future challenges call for a radical new approach, underpinned by prudent principles, to lead change, harness new disruptive technologies and contest the purpose, value and location of existing service provision for patients.

With a unique format that is sympathetic to the role of professional learners from health, social care, third sector and life-science industries, it uses and applies the knowledge gained to benefit the individual and the system.

The aim of this Master’s is to enable individuals to immerse themselves in the new paradigm of Value in health and care; how to implement it in practice at a population and individual level, capturing outcomes that matter, utilising digital technologies, applying new costing models, innovative procurement approaches and adopting a total pathway-of-care approach.

You will develop the necessary skills to implement an innovative Value-Based strategy within an organisation.

This innovative programme seeks to optimise your learning journey using creative methods, blended learning and assessment frameworks that best suit and adapt to your individual needs.

It is delivered in a research-led learning environment; where the most up-to-date knowledge is used to motivate and inspire learners; maximizing your learning outcomes. You will also be encouraged to become co-creators of research during the Research in a Health and Social Care Context module and the formative and summative assessments in other modules.

Your learning will be developed through original applications of different concepts and models to cases from your own work and life experience.

The programme will also draw on international, national, regional and local associations and networks. This breadth of research, teaching and professional expertise will serve to greatly enrich your development in the field of innovation and transformation within health and social care.

This course will equip you with the skills and experience to lead your organisation’s Value-Based Health Care transformation programme.

In addition, the programme will enhance your future employment opportunities and professional proficiency in this emerging global paradigm which is shaping health and social care policy and delivery and life-science business models.
