Course summary

Our PG Diploma takes the form of an apprenticeship and can be studied over a 1 year intense programme or a 2 year part-time basis. Vocational and practical in its delivery, all modules have been specifically designed to be completely relevant to the developing accompanist/repetiteur.

The PG Dip course runs over a period of one or two years using an intensive practical programme.

Teaching on the PG Dip programme involves one-to-one coaching, masterclasses, lectures and public performance experience. Students will also undertake personal study and practice.

Course Overview

Founded by Internationally renowned Tenor Dennis O’Neill, and now part of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, students will benefit from the expertise Masters in their fields and a world-leading Educational Institution to prepare them for the ever-changing pace of the Operatic Performance Industry.

The Academy provides a highly specialised and unique environment for a small number of exceptional accompanists at the early stage of their professional careers. Students work with the best, coaches, visiting eminent conductors and international stars from the operatic world in order to develop their talent to the highest professional standards.

The Academy’s work ethic is based on respect and co-operation. Having built relationships with industry professionals and continued relationships with students who now work in the industry we feel we can offer an ever current training and education to our joining students.

Assessment

Assessment is practical on the whole with written content expected to accompany certain performances i.e. Programme Notes.
