About the course

The agricultural machinery engineering industry within the United Kingdom employs highly capable, motivated staff who can contribute to the success of their organisation in all areas. This degree will provide the ideal platform for those who wish to progress within the industry.

This course is designed as a progression route for those students who have completed a Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma in a relevant subject area. It focuses on developing further an understanding of the agricultural machinery engineering industry and how businesses/organisations function within the industry. The knowledge provided by this course provides a basis for working in management or operational roles either in the United Kingdom or elsewhere in the world.

Learning Environment:

Learning activities on the course are diverse including lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops. Students are expected to undertake extensive independent study and research to support taught sessions. Group work and presentations are an important part of the course. In addition students will have access to specialist hardware and software and Myerscough’s virtual learning environment.

Assessment:

Students will face a variety of assessments including formative and summative assessment, essays, technical reports, individual presentations, individual study projects and case studies based on work experience.

Progression

On successful completion of the course, students may apply for Post Graduate studies or employment.

Careers

Graduates will be in a position to apply for management posts in the manufacturing and retail sector, or contract management within the market sector, or in International Business Management, International Trading, and advancement into teaching or research.
