What is special about this course?

Do you want to hone and develop the many practical skills involved in the multi disciplines of agriculture practice? This husbandry-based HNC has been designed to provide you with these practical skills as well as the theoretical knowledge required to undertake the running of a farm enterprise.

You will be given the opportunity to study in both a national and global context with emphasis throughout the course on agriculture as a multi-functional industry.

Special features

  • Practical sessions will be delivered on our tutor's working farm in Kintyre
  • The technical knowledge and practical experience gained will enhance your employability skills and career prospects in arable or livestock farming
  • You will gain knowledge in crop production, animal welfare, health and safety and environmental issues
  • Opportunities exist for higher level study following the successful completion of the HNC
  • Part-time programme available with classes scheduled two evenings per week, over 3 years

On successful completion of the HNC Agriculture you may wish to consider various roles in arable and lifestock farming, for example:
