Course summary

100% of UWTSD’s Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies students agreed that staff are good at explaining things – NSS 2018. UWTSD ranked 1st in the UK for student satisfaction in Anthropology – NSS 2018. Anthropology is the study of human life and behaviour. And that requires getting out into the world to find out what people are up to. A degree in Anthropology at UWTSD gives you the opportunity to do just that – to study and experience human culture in a whole new way. Your concentration in Religious Studies will compliment this emphasis by giving you a grounding in the beliefs and practices of a wide range of world faiths. The course will help you understand the role of religion in the world and study the origins and development of religious traditions, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.Five Reasons to Choose Religious Studies and Anthropology:
• Wide range of modules on relevant topics such the political anthropology, religious movements, or cultural conceptions of sex and gender.
• Modules based on lecturers' distinctive research expertise in religious experience and sustainability.
• Innovative immersive teaching in small groups and one-to-one tutorials.
• Space for independent thinking and opportunities to pursue your own interests.
• Chance to combine your studies with modules from other humanities subjects.
