Sussex has the largest department in the UK focusing on social anthropology and pioneered the anthropological critique of development. We examine the impact of economic and social change on local practices, meanings and identities.

The MA focuses on issues of anthropological engagement, development policy and activism. You will learn from experts. You can also connect with our global network of research partnerships, alumni and professionals in the public, private, consultancy and not-for-profit sectors.
