Prepares graduates for specialised roles in biodiversity management and conservation, with a focus on innovative problem-solving.Hands-on learning with access to modern facilities and fieldwork opportunities in diverse ecosystems. This includes the University’s field station for work in freshwater and woodland habitats, our own University farm and researh centre for work in an agricultural setting and numerous field sites abroad. Situated in a city rich in cultural and natural diversity, and hosting the Glasgow as a Living Lab Accelerating Novel Transformation project makes the University of Glasgow the ideal place for studying and applying conservation principles. Led by research-active faculty providing an education aligned with the latest research and industry trends.Providing a broad insight into conservation science with a strong focus on applied aspects integrating practical ecological skills with advanced quantitative methods. The programme offers a rich diversity of courses that allow specialisation into different strands of conservation such as response of populations or individuals to environmental change, urbanisation, species protection and training in a wide range of techniques including Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Biodiversity Informatics, Conservation Genetics, and Economic Tools for Conservation.
