Course summary
Are you interested in learning more about the day-to-day role of a psychologist? Do you want to learn more about how psychologists support their clients across different contexts?
Written and reviewed by qualified practitioners and psychologists, this masters course aims to build psychology graduates’ knowledge on psychological practice issues.
As part of this masters programme, you will build your knowledge of; different types of psychological assessments, various therapeutic approaches, the role of clinical formulations, various clinical presentations, and research methods in psychology.
Whether it’s clinical, counselling, forensic, educational, sport, or occupational psychology that sparks your interest, this programme is a good place to start to explore the fundamental practice issues of psychology.
This masters course would be an ideal preparatory qualification for those who wish to progress onto practitioner psychology training programmes to qualify as a psychologist in future.
In addition, the course would also be helpful for anyone who wishes to build their knowledge in preparation for, or alongside, an assistant psychologist position.

Assessment and Teaching
Each taught module will run for twelve teaching weeks.
Assignments will include the completion of; essays, a case study, a first-person reflection, a research report, a research proposal, an in-class presentation, and a literature review.
Learning will take place through interactive lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as some self-directed learning such as reading, the completion of assignments, and the completion of a research project. As a student on this programme, you will be given various opportunities to study clinical issues that are of interest to you, be that a particular age group of clients, or particular mental health conditions.
There is no placement attached to this programme, however, students will be encouraged to build more practical experience outside their studies through voluntary or paid positions.
Career Prospects
This course would be ideal for those who wish to progress onto practitioner psychologist training, an assistant psychologist role, or any care or psychology related working position.
