Course summary

This course will provide you with all the artistic and technical skills you need to be a successful practitioner in Fashion or Textile Design working either as an employee or self-employed .

It also provides you with the opportunity for further study at degree level at Southern Regional College or other universities. You will have 256 contact hours in college. Further to the contact hours you are expected to show autonomy and independence in your studies whilst working on your assignments directed by your tutor/s outside of the college learning environment.

The programme is a vocationally-orientated course, which will consolidate existing knowledge and prepare you for a variety of pathway associated practice. The course aims to ensure that you achieve academic and practitioner standards as laid out in the QAA Benchmark Statements relevant to Art & Design.

Our experienced staffs have a wide span of knowledge in a number of disciplines including Fashion Design, Fine Art Textiles, and Surface Pattern Design.

On successful completion of this course you may progress to employment opportunities in the fashion and textiles industries or progress to the BA (Hons) in Creative Imaging at Banbridge Campus. Alternatively, you may progress to courses at other higher education institutions local or national. This course is accredited by Pearson and regulated by QAA.
