Course summary
The BA Primary Education Studies degrees will give you a good understanding of fundamental issues in education across a range of contexts and environments. The course has a specific focus on the primary sector and will provide an ideal platform for those interested in careers in primary education. In addition, this degree supports those interested in working in the wider fields of education, health and social-work.Regular opportunities for work-based experience in schools will enable students to be involved in current practice using the latest technologies and learning strategies. The city of Cardiff and its surrounding areas boasts a diverse range of schools that will allow you to see sector-leading practice across all areas of the primary phase. The bilingual degree is focused on developing your academic and practical understanding of primary education in a bilingual context. Whilst some of the programme will be delivered through the medium of English most of the course is available in the medium of Welsh, including Welsh medium personal tutor support. Assessments can be submitted in English or in Welsh and the Welsh content can be tailored to suit your language ability. The course is designed to meet the increasing demand for graduates who have bilingual capabilities and qualifications.
