Course summary

This course covers a range of business leadership and specialist areas, including aviation law; business planning and entrepreneurship; crisis management and communication; and aviation safety and security. Using the latest technologies, you build your knowledge and experience so you graduate ready to take off in an exciting career in this field. With our campus close to London Luton Airport, you’re also well positioned to enhance your studies and pursue work placements with airlines and related organisations.


Foundation Year

In the Foundation year you will study three days per week. The focus will be on academic writing skills and numeracy, plus subject-specific content to fully prepare you for entry to an Undergraduate degree. It provides a balance between content related to your chosen subject and the range of wider skills required for undergraduate study. This is an integrated four-year degree, with the foundation year as a key part of the course. You will be required to pass the foundation year in order to progress to the first year of your degree. This course is ideal for those who do not meet our standard entry requirements or those with a non-standard educational background. It will allow you to graduate with a full undergraduate degree in your chosen subject in four years.


Facilities and Specialist Equipment

- Up-to-the-minute interactive technologies including simulation software Simulate that allows you to take control of your own airline and gain key insights into airline management, while competing with course peers.- Use of real-world tabletop airport emergency exercise simulations.- Access to premium aviation data and analytics to enhance your critical analysis capabilities (a key competency sought by employers).

- Industry-relevant employment opportunities with London Luton Airport, TUI, EasyJet and other aviation-related companies. - Visits and masterclasses from industry specialists and professionals include airline pilots, airport managers and aviation safety experts. - Interactive teaching which addresses current and contemporary industry affairs. - Benefit from our Aviation Job Fair, attended by airlines and airports, providing opportunities to explore further employment or internships. - Enrich your experience via student societies; placements and internships; and field trips to companies such as Airbus, Birmingham Airport and Emirates Airline.
