Biochemists study the way living organisms function at a molecular level, and bring about positive change in vital areas such as medicine, agriculture and the environment. In you final year, you can choose three optional modules allowing you to investigate areas that interest you, for example cancer biology, neuroscience, virology, Bioinformatics and Genomics, immunology, cell signalling or ageing. You also complete your own research project.
