You will discover how biological science can answer today’s key challenges and gain an advanced understanding of life processes.This four year integrated masters equips you with the research skills vital for further study or a research career. You will develop the potential to go on to a successful career in a broad variety of professions including laboratory-based research, jobs in the conservation and environment sector, and the media.Students study a broad variety of topics including ecology, microbiology, cell biology and plant development in the first two -years of their degree.As well as gaining extensive experience from a variety of field trips in possible locations like the New Forest, Spain and Belize, you will also become a part of our diverse and passionate research community, spending your final -year embedded alongside one of our leading research groups. You will complete an extended project in a specialised area of your choice and enjoy working alongside and being taught by leading academics in their research fields. They will support you in developing a knowledge of life at different levels - from molecules and cells, to whole communities and global ecosystems.Biological Sciences at Southampton is ranked joint 1st in the Russell Group for satisfaction with their course Guardian University Guide, 2020 (UG)

A level : AAA

AAA to include Biology and one further science subject. A level science subjects considered include Human Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Statistics, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Geography and Geology. Science practical components must be passed. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics are excluded for entry.Contextual Offer: AAB including Biology and one further science subject.
