The Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research MRes course is a multi- disciplinary programme that will provide you with superior practical skills and a firm theoretical grounding in a range of scientific fields.

Lectures delivered by experienced specialist researchers covering contemporary issues in Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuro Biology and Cardiovascular Sciences.
Interactive tutorials including, for example, a session on biosciences statistics and bioinformatics.
Each student can choose a number of expert led workshops focused on specialised technical skills and scientific approaches and methodologies relevant to Biomedical Sciences.
The course offers advanced practical experience and supervised training together with an in-depth research project within an active research group; projects are either nine months (MRes) in length.
Description:
Our Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research MSc, MRes course gives you the flexibility to choose to study for a full Masters or an extended Masters of Research qualification. You will study Skills and Topics in Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research; Advanced Bioscience Research Laboratory Techniques, Workshops and an extended research project.
The MSc pathway requires modules totalling 180 credits, and this includes a six-month research project and dissertation worth 60 credits.
If you choose to study for the Masters Research qualification, you will be required to study modules worth 240 credits, which will include a nine-month research project and dissertation worth 120 credits.
Career prospects:
Our graduates have been very successful in securing UK or international PhD positions after graduation, with the majority choosing to remain in science or enrolling in PhD, medical or dental programmes.
