Biomedical engineers design, develop and deliver the health and wellbeing devices of the future. On this 4-year programme you'll study key aspects of biomedicine, electronics and computer science, with opportunities to tailor your degree through specialist pathways. With all economies facing increased health spending, engineers and computer scientists play an ever-growing role in developing healthcare solutions. You'll explore topics including: the creation of diagnostic systems and devices for monitoring and controlling body functions electronic circuit and computer software design simulation, design and verification tools for system development with reporting methodologies clinical, safety and ethical considerations in biomedical engineering and commercialization pathways for medical devices. Our modern laboratories with industry-standard equipment support hands-on learning. Throughout the programme, you'll develop awareness of quality systems and engineering management, including leadership requirements and business practices specific to biomedical electronic engineering enterprises.
