**Start your career in biomedical science with this two-year foundation degree, which covers a range of subjects from microbiology to genetics.**This biomedical science foundation degree prepares you for degree-level learning and a future career in research or laboratory science, with the chance to discover new drugs, cures or treatments. You'll be able to transfer to the BSc Hons degree if you complete the course successfully.The course will provide you with the relevant skills for working in laboratories. Modules cover topics as diverse as fundamental biology and physiology, medical science, metabolism and disease, microbiology and genetics.The part-time route is studied over three years by one-day attendance at college with support of your employer. You will need to be in relevant employment already in a hospital laboratory or related science area. It can be used as a stepping stone into the final year of a BSc (Hons) (conditions apply)This foundation degree is offered by one of the university's partner colleges, London South East Colleges, on its Bromley Campus.
