Course summary
Biomedical scientists study the cells, organs and systems in the human body, and how findings can be applied to diagnose and treat disease. Our Biomedical Sciences BSc is taught jointly by Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. Many of our graduates progress onto medicine and dentistry, and the programme is designed with this in mind. We’ll give you a thorough grounding in human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, genetics and pharmacology. In the final year, you can direct your study to specialist areas, including endocrinology, genomics, drug design, cell pathology and cancer biology. Practical sessions in our modern labs will give you hands-on experience of using scientific instrumentation. In the final year you’ll design your own project, supervised by our experts, developing the skills to become a researcher in your own right. You can also apply for this course:with a Year Abroad
