Course summary
Explore and understand human disease at all levels, combining biochemistry, physiology, neuroscience, cell biology, genetics, and pharmacology. Your four-year integrated Biomedical Sciences masters degree at the University of Southampton will allow you to delve into how this practice provides advances in vital areas and join a pioneering community who will share their expertise, allowing you to focus on aspects of physiology and/or biochemistry to research level - Southampton’s biomedical sciences researchers are making a significant impact on today’s society by investigating potential cures for Alzheimer’s, discovering the causes of cystic fibrosis and improving our understanding and treatment of cancer.You will have the flexibility to tailor your degree through our extensive range of modules, complete an extensive laboratory-based research project in the heart of our multi-million pound, state-of-the-art Life Sciences building, and will have the opportunity to embark on a Year in Employment to gain experience in an industrial setting.You will join a programme with successful graduates who are in demand and you will graduate primed to pursue employment in a variety of areas including medicine and healthcare-related professions, clinical or medical research, and in industry.99% of Biological Sciences graduates were in employment or further study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes 2020/2021).

Science practical components must be passed. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics are excluded for entry. Science practical components must be passed where applicable.
