About this course
This degree in Behavioural Sciences will give you a detailed and balanced knowledge of the fascinating subject of human behaviour and will allow you to build a strong foundation for your career in this field. As part of this degree you will learn how to analyse data effectively, write concise reports and give engaging presentations. This honours degree in Behavioural Science is tremendously flexible, allowing the opportunity to select modules of personal and professional interest. During the first year you will develop a strong background in Behavioural Sciences through core modules that cover cognitive, biological, developmental, and social and personality psychology. You will also look at research methods, making sense of society and be introduced to cross-disciplinary psychology. As you enter the second year, you will be increasingly led by your own interests and have the chance to explore specialist fields in more detail, such as Psychology, Criminology and Sociology. You will explore the four main areas of Behavioural Sciences – Biopsychology, Developmental Psychology, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology and Personality and Individual Differences. In the final year, you will tailor your degree still further by taking more specialised options alongside the last core module, Social Psychology, before writing your dissertation. This honours degree in Behavioural Sciences is tremendously flexible. As you progress through the course you’ll have the opportunity to select modules of personal interest. In workshops and lectures you will have the chance to use specialist equipment to measure activity of the cardiovascular system, brain, autonomic nervous system and more, tracking equipment, virtual reality software and statistics software. During this course you will be able to gain experience volunteering in areas such as mental health, forensic, educational addictions and sports psychology, visit professional working environments or go on trips relevant to your modules.

You will finish your course with a strong grasp of psychology as a discipline in addition to an understanding of psychological influences and functioning with related areas as chosen by you.
