Our industry-recognised BSc (Hons) Building Surveying is designed to prepare you for a successful career in building surveying. It provides a rigorous understanding of the principles and practice involved in building surveying.

Accredited by globally-renowned professional bodies RICS, CIOB and CABE, this programme is delivered by supported online learning and is therefore very flexible as it can be studied in any location at any time, enabling you to earn while you learn.

The programme provides the academic underpinning and skills necessary to prepare you for a career as a building surveyor up to Bachelor’s degree standard.

This BSc programme is primarily designed for people with an interest in building, facilities management or property who wish to further their career with a degree or gain professional membership of one of the accrediting organisations. Many of our students often already work in, or are associated with, the property and building sectors.

Career & study progression

The BSc (Hons) Building Surveying degree is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a requirement on the path to membership of the RICS. The degree is recognised worldwide, leading to employment opportunities wherever you are, or may wish to be.

The course at UCEM will provide the academic rigour of meeting specific learning outcomes tailored to the technical and problem-solving skills required of the 21st century Building Surveyor. You will be better prepared to meet the continuing professional development required of the professional surveyor, with increasing opportunities to develop your career via private or public sector organisations, working in building control, building surveying or project management.
