Course summary

Our accredited BA Business recognises the requirements of employers in the contemporary business world giving our students an excellent foundation to build a successful business career. You will gain a broad insight into the world of business and management from academics and industry professionals with a wealth of experience in organisations and business. They will inspire your commercial acumen and management skills as you develop the knowledge and abilities necessary to be successful in the modern business world. As well as developing your personal and professional skills, you will acquire the knowledge and abilities not only to become an effective business manager, but also the entrepreneurialism to develop your own business. In your first year you will take a number of introductory topics in marketing, economics, the business environment and numeracy. As you progress onto years two and three you will gain an understanding of management, business operations, corporate strategy, business law and human resources. A work placement is embedded in the second year to give all our students practical work experience, whilst a dissertation is taken in the final year to develop your research skills.

Students are assessed in a variety of ways over the course of their undergraduate studies. The balance between the different forms of assessment is determined by the different aims and learning outcomes of the core and option modules. Assessment methods include academic essays, presentations, reports, simulation exercises and examinations. The Careers & Zone at Wrexham Glyndŵr University is there to help you make decisions and plan the next steps towards a bright future. From finding work or further study to working out your interests, skills and aspirations, they can provide you with the expert information, advice and guidance you need.
