Course summary
**Course summary**Do you want to do business, not just learn about it? Have you considered running your own business, or leading the development and success of an established organisation? Do you like working with others, and hands-on learning? If so, this is the course for you.The BSc (Hons) Business Enterprise Development course is an innovative programme that has been designed to equip you with the skills, competencies and attitude to enhance both your entrepreneurial mindset and leadership capabilities. Whether you are interested in setting up your own enterprise or leading the development and success of established organisations, this is the course for you. With no lectures and no exams, this programme is constructed around you working in a team running your own enterprise. Learning opportunities and assessments are built around this across 3 key pillars: enterprise management and growth; team performance and leadership; and innovation and entrepreneurialism. This programme is different – are you?No other course develops the skills, attributes and competencies necessary to thrive in the modern enterprise environment like this programme. It will give you the confidence, resilience and experience to lead, manage or set up your own enterprise or to take your future in whatever direction you want.**Key benefits**A unique degree - If you prefer to ‘learn by doing’ – the right course for someone who excels through hands on learning.• If you have an interest in setting up your own business or want to gain real life insights into the workings of a start up and the skills and knowledge that is involved in this. • Part of a global network of ‘team enterprise’ international hubs.• Aston University won **‘Outstanding Entrepreneurial University’** in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards (2020),• Aston University was recognised as the Guardian’s University of the Year in 2020.• This course is delivered by the triple-accredited Aston Business School – one of just 1% of business schools in the world to hold AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation.**Modules**For more information on this course and a full list of modules, visit the course page: https://www.aston.ac.uk/study/courses/business-enterprise-development-bsc/september-2022 **Assessment method**This course puts experience and practice at the heart of the learning process. You will learn from doing tasks and interacting with your team rather than being fed information from a lecturer. This encourages deep learning of the key activities of enterprise development and management. There are no exams. While appropriate for some programmes and beneficial for some people, exams are not always the best way to develop and assess skills and competencies. All of the assessment on this programme is authentic, allowing you to demonstrate what you have achieved without having to endure the stress of revision and the challenges of memory recall in a crowded exam hall. Entrepreneurial and management success cannot be judged by exams, so neither is our programme. All of your assessments will be practical and developmental. They will include tasks, such as: creating career and personal development plans; pitching for funding for your enterprise; showcasing your teams’ projects; maintaining your own reflective journal; creating enterprise development plans; ideation and new product/service challenges; interviews; presentation of a marketing campaign; and an in-depth consultancy or market research project. You are able to self-regulate and pace your own learning. As there are no lectures you are not constrained by weekly cycles of academic work. All of your assessments will be set at the start of the year so that you, your team and your coach can work out an approach to addressing the assess
