**Course snapshot**This course is accredited by University of Birmingham, one of the world’s leading academic institutions, and is backed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Developed in close partnership with industry experts, it will give you the business knowledge and work experience required to advance in management positions throughout the enterprising service sector or set up your own business. **Who’s the course for?**Business Enterprise is a great fit for students who would like to understand more about essential business and management skills including analysis, communication, decision-making and planning. You will also study the full range of business functions from research to marketing, and human resources to law.We encourage students to choose from a wide range of module options (everything from sales management to advertising and website design) so they can develop specialisms. You will learn about the business environment as a whole and gain a thorough understanding of both traditional and contemporary business functions and practices. You will learn how to evaluate the success of business activities through a range of innovative assessments including e-debates, academic posters, action plans and management reports.Teaching is delivered via a mixture of lectures, seminars, workshops, “real world” simulations and guest lecturers.**What skills will I gain?**You will feel at home in the contemporary business environment and gain a thorough understanding of management functions and practices. You will acquire a strong working knowledge of how key business functions work together and learn how to project manage and start a business.
