Course summary

Course Overview

Are you ready to take a step up the career ladder but missing some of the essential requirements to move straight into Masters level business study?

Our pathway course is designed for those looking for support to meet the academic subject entry requirements for postgraduate study. It bridges any gap in your existing skills level and give you the confidence to progress onto Newcastle Business School’s Masters provision.

The Graduate certificate course consists of 60 credits delivered over one semester. The course covers a 40 credit Business and Management in Context module and a 20 credit Developing Academic Skills for Business and Management module, designed to support your development of academic skills for future studies at postgraduate level.

Your Future

Modules on the course are specifically designed to enhance your reflection and evaluation skills, to prepare you for entry to postgraduate study in Business and Management.

Classroom-based sessions will provide an opportunity to develop discussion and reflection, teamwork, presentation, and leadership skills. You will be able to capitalise on past academic and employment experience, and become exposed to a variety of business sectors and management scenarios.

Although the course is explicitly designed as a pathway to the MSc Business suite of courses, the skills practised are transferrable and will provide a strong grounding in business, management and leadership roles. As one of our graduates you will benefit from the Business and Law Schools’ Alumni Networking Platform, and from our close ties with the regional and national business communities.
