Course summary
This accelerated course gives you the opportunity to complete a year-long internship in the second year, whilst studying modules by blended learning at the same time. You’ll gain a degree and a full year of work experience in a business management role in just three years, so you’ll be well positioned to secure a great graduate job. The course allows you to learn more about the broad area of business and management and the specialist occupations such as marketing, operations management, human resource management and finance. This means it is readily adaptable and flexible to a wide range of careers. Your first year of study will be based here at Nottingham Trent University and comprise traditional learning such as lectures, seminars as well as enterprise projects, plans and reports. In the second year, you will work full time and complete modules through distance learning. You will attend study support days at NBS and will be supported face-to-face and at distance by tutors. In Year Three you will return to Nottingham Business School and, in addition to core project and subject-based modules, you will be involved in mentoring first year students and running a student-led conference. As well as a year of valuable work experience, you’ll also have the opportunity to attend a summer school at a partner university overseas. Through your internship, industry interventions such as guest lecturers, project work and national competitions, and a vocational curriculum, you will leave with practical skills to enhance your employability. The course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
