Course summary

Course Overview

Advance your career in management with the Foundation Degree in Business Management (Leadership). This programme develops an excellent range of management and leadership skills with which to begin your management career. A 96-hour work placement also provides opportunities for you to apply theory to workplace practice. This qualification was developed alongside employers and provides highly sought after Chartered Management Institute (CMI) accreditation via the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. You will also have the opportunity to become a Chartered Manager. Many students progress to one of our BA (Hons) Management top-up programmes and then to exciting careers with local and national employers.

Career Options and Progression

Successful graduates have the option of starting their careers straight away or developing their skills (and career potential) further by progressing to our BA (Hons) Management.

A vast number of career opportunities await Business Management graduates, with the option to specialise in Leadership, Finance, Marketing or Human Resource Management. Past students are now employed as trainee graduate managers, project managers, brand managers, retail and HR managers for national organisations such as BAE, Tesco and the NHS as well as local employers such as The Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Transport and the Federation of Small Business.

Other graduates have progressed to postgraduate study, including teacher training, Masters programmes and professional qualifications, with others even going to start businesses of their own.
