Course summary

At Surrey Business School, we’re renowned for our world-class research, dynamic learning environment and strong links with industry. Our business management degree programmes give you the opportunity to explore how organisations of all sizes start, run and thrive.By combining this core business knowledge with specific expertise in entrepreneurship on our BSc Business Management (Entrepreneurship) **(with Foundation Year)** pathway, you will explore different approaches to innovation and entrepreneurial culture both within established organisations and new business start-ups.Entrepreneurship is about pursuing opportunities beyond the resources you have at hand. Entrepreneurs are pioneers and innovators who often build businesses from scratch, or work within their organisations to create new opportunities. Our course offers a wide variety of modules on topics including entrepreneurship in the digital domain, business law, and entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as core business topics. You’ll gain an overall view of entrepreneurial activity and explore different ways to approach entrepreneurship. You’ll also learn how to consider financial and institutional systems in supporting entrepreneurship in different economies and gain an analytical framework for understanding different approaches to entrepreneurial cultures. We’re always looking to make it easier to access the education we offer, so we have launched the option of taking a degree with a foundation year.A foundation year is an extra year of study at the start of your course that leads in to a full degree programme. It’s a great option if:• You don’t have the grades for a full degree course• You have non-traditional qualifications or experience• You’re starting university after some time away from education• You’re looking for more support during the transition into university study.During a foundation year you’ll learn about your chosen subject, develop your study skills and get used to university life. On successful completion of your foundation year, you’ll be ready to progress to the first year of your degree course. As a foundation year student, you’ll be a full student of the University and part of our community.
