Why Business with Financial Services (Top-up)? Are you looking for a career in business or the financial services sector? Or, do you already know the basics but you want to build on your understanding to develop your skills and knowledge to degree level? This one-year top-up course gives you the chance to specialise in this area and gain some invaluable practical experience too. This top-up degree course is designed to help you build a greater understanding of central banking, financial markets and regulatory practice. We’ll look at the theory and policy behind the financial services sector. How will you learn? You will learn through practical application and delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions. * You’ll have the opportunity to explore the stock exchange and try your hand at investing, with our simulation trading tool ‘The Portfolio Game.’ * During your studies we’ll focus on the role of strategic management in organisations. * You will get the chance to look at the key strategic management approaches that help managers deliver to their business objectives for both short term and long term scenarios. What subjects will you cover? You’ll explore subjects such as Business Responsibility and Sustainability, Strategy in Context, Investment and Portfolio Management and Monetary and Financial Framework. For a business to be successful all the different functions need to operate effectively in conjunction with each other. By studying strategy you will develop the skills and knowledge to be a business leader of the future. Through your specialist study relating to the financial services you will understand how the financial markets operate. In addition to your core modules you will be able to select options to gain a deeper insight into specialist subjects that interest you. Due to the wide range of subjects studied on the course you will have lots of different career opportunities upon graduation. Former Business with Financial Services students have become sales executives, account managers, project managers, banking executives, and insurance professionals to name to just a few.
