Course summary
Why Business with Sustainable Transport Management? Transport is the lifeblood of successful economies. Our journey to work, business- related travel and the movement of goods require safe, efficient and reliable transport. Modes used include air, sea, rail, road and pipeline whilst airports, ports, rail and bus terminuses, warehouses and distribution centres act as nodes within transport networks. Transport and logistics managers aim to make sure that people can travel safely and sustainably, and goods can flow successfully through the supply chain. Other equally important players in a business are the logistics analysts, customer service managers and planning managers. Transport operators ensure that our rail, bus and coach services are run efficiently and on time. The course aims to give you a thorough grounding in all aspects of sustainable transport, logistics and distribution services. We’ll touch on a varied range of sectors, including train operators, bus and coach companies, third party logistics operators, consultancies and even the armed forces. You’ll also study the operational and economic aspects, including passenger transport. This course is part of NOVUS Lite, an innovation developed between the university and the NOVUS Trust.
