The PG Diploma in Career Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education provides a thorough training for today's higher education careers and employability professional. The flexible nature of this course allows you to complete the core modules and then follow an individual track through the optional modules linked to your working role.

Course Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma provides thorough training for today’s higher education careers and employability professional. It is approved by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and designed and taught in partnership with this professional body. It is also approved by the Career Development Institute (CDI) as meeting the qualification requirement for the UK Register of Career Development Professionals.

Teaching

The course involves both independent study, tutorials and group teaching. Its flexible nature means that you can plot an individual track through the course and use the virtual and physical learning environments to make contact with others. You will start with the core modules, firstly, Career Development Theories and then Challenges of Careers Work in Higher Education. These modules run twice a year.

Assessment

Modules are assessed through a combination of assignments (5,000 word projects) and case studies.

Careers

Our graduates occupy a range of relevant career development roles in the private and public sectors Former students have gone on to publish and disseminate their work in a range of academic and professional contexts. PhD opportunities are available at Warwick within the Centre for Lifelong Learning and the Warwick Institute for Employment Research.
