If you’ve ever been interested in a career in social and community work, but don’t have the necessary qualification to study the subject at university, this Access to Higher Education Diploma could be the ideal course for you, preparing you for a future career in this sector.

You’ll study a range of units that cover Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and Criminology, focusing on developing skills that are relevant for a degree course, including reflection, critical analysis, academic essay writing and the ability to debate effectively.

Broadening your horizons, this course will challenge your view of the world. You’ll cover topics as diverse as safeguarding children, personality theory, race in British society and the theories of crime causation. Each topic is designed to help you succeed at university and in a working environment.

Continuing Your Journey

You’ll have a number of paths open to you when you’ve achieved this qualification, including our own BSc (Hons) in Social Care Professions, BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology or BSc (Hons) in Health Care Studies. You could of course apply for any level 4 qualification including BA (Hons) degrees, foundation degrees, or HND courses. These could be in Social Work, Psychology, Philosophy, Social Care, and Abuse Studies, to name just a few. There’s a huge choice of options, with each leading to an exciting and rewarding career in the social and community care sector.
