Course summary

Chemical physics is concerned with electrons, nuclei, atoms and molecules in all states of matter, and how they interact with their environment. This degree programme covers the area in which chemistry and physics overlap.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of chemistry, physics, mathematics and computing, and will be equipped to tackle challenging problems in chemistry and physics. You will learn how to understand the laws of physics so that you can apply the latest technologies to control molecules and make new materials. Our graduates are employed across multiple sectors including industry, commerce, government research and education.

WHY STUDY CHEMICAL PHYSICS?

  • Chemistry at the University of Glasgow is ranked 6th in the UK (Complete University Guide 2021), and continues to meet and exceed student expectations, combining both teaching excellence and a supportive learning environment
