Course summary
A number of our degrees are also offered with an additional foundation year (Year 0). Whether you are a school-leaver or someone considering returning to study but don’t have the entry requirements for your chosen subject, a foundation year course may be just what you’re looking for.A foundation year is the first year of a four year programme which:•provides an introduction not only to study at University but also to your chosen subject•offers you a highly supportive environment where you can develop the self-confidence, knowledge, skills and understanding for further study. The Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies gives you the opportunity to fit study around work and enhance your knowledge and further your learning. Flexible in its format and led by academics who are also experienced childhood practitioners, this course allows you to work and study at the same time. We believe that working with children within your studies is vital – so it’s built into the course. We also understand that you may already have a wealth of experience in working with children, or even be looking to change career paths, so through this course our goal is to help you become a more rounded professional.
