In this exciting five-year degree, you’ll learn two languages from beginner level and deepen your understanding of the modern world by exploring the histories and cultures of the nations that speak them.You’ll spend one year in China and another in Italy, improving your language skills and gaining first-hand experience of these cultures and societies to enrich your understanding of these fascinating countries.This degree allows you to learn both languages from beginner level, although if you already have some knowledge of either language we can normally accommodate you.Rich in cultural heritage, Italy is a multi-ethnic society and a leading world economy. This immersive course enables you to become proficient in the language and acquire an in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of this vibrant country.The dominant cultural, political and economic influence in East Asia for over two millennia, China today constitutes almost a fifth of the global economy, and is a major centre for technological, business and cultural innovation.
