OVERVIEWLearn the skills required to plan, design, build and manage civil engineering projects with UWS’s BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering programme.To equip you with the wide-ranging skills and knowledge sought after by employers, this programme covers the following areas:• Mathematics• Structural analysis and design• Hydraulics• Surveying• Project management• GeotechnicsRegular guest lectures from industry professionals will provide you with insight to what working life as a civil engineer is really like. This programme also offers a placement option where you complete 36 weeks of industrial training to prepare you for employment in the civil engineering industry following graduation.PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS• This degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Permanent Way Institution on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Candidates must hold a masters or doctorate accredited as further learning for CEng to hold accredited qualifications for CEng registration.
