Why choose Classical Civilisation and Creative Writing at UWTSD?1. On the Classical Civilisation side we provide the opportunity to study a wide array of topics and themes. You can focus your attention on mythology and religion, literature and art, or social, political and economic history as suits your tastes. While on the Creative writing side we aim to nurture your creative talent across a range of different forms - including short stories, screenplays, poetry, drama and novels.2. All students are taught through small groups, with interactive lectures, one-to-one tutorials, and seminars – all in a friendly and supportive environment.3. Students have the opportunity to go on local and international field trips, as well as study abroad opportunities with our partners at Bologna (Italy), Tarragona (Spain) and Hobart and William Smith (USA)4. Staff have teaching and research expertise in a wide array of areas from the poetry of Ovid and Statius to the study of ancient warfare, economics, iconography, and Romano-Celtic religious practices.5. We give you the opportunity to develop an understanding of the world of publishers focusing on your research and editing skills and exploring key aspects of publication.
