Course summary

This part-time course is open to Home/EU applicants only. The course is run in collaboration with the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK) of the Royal College of Surgeon of England and is ONLY available to candidates who have a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the FGDP(UK).

Learning and teaching

The MSc course is delivered through a combination of intensive block teaching at the University of Leeds for the Research Methodology and Statistics Modules followed by distance learning for the Research Project. For the research project you'll be allocated an experienced personal mentor from our academic staff.

Assessment

You'll be assessed through a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the course. These include:

  • Evidencing an ability to conduct independent in-depth enquiry within implant dentistry.
  • Demonstrating the ability to apply breadth and/or depth of knowledge to this specialist area.
  • Drawing on a range of perspectives on an area of study.
  • Evaluating and criticising received opinion.
  • Making reasoned judgements whilst understanding the limitation on judgements made in the absence of complete data.
