Course summary

OVERVIEW

The Postgraduate Certificate Coaching & Mentoring is aimed at practitioners from across public, private and voluntary sector organisations who have responsibility for learning and development and/or supporting peers and colleagues as part of their own organisational development policies. Previous participants have engaged successfully with the programme from across the field(s) of education, health, social work, further education, local authority, and other professional contexts.

In this respect, the PgCert promotes cross-sector/interagency/inter-professional working and the development of core, transferable skills appropriate for postgraduate study. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for sustained engagement with the subject; to embark on an incremental learning journey in a supportive and non-threatening environment.

All participants are required to have access to appropriate work-related opportunities within their professional context, and to reflect upon and inquire into practice during the programme, which uses through engagement with a range of practical, task-oriented material and activities.

You will explore theoretical knowledge required and issues of practical implementation and management of coaching and mentoring in organisational contexts. Depending on your workplace context, this can have an immediate impact on professional practice.
