The MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBP) is an advanced training programme which is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to undertake a master’s level course that prepares them to practice as Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists

This programme has been specifically designed to develop students’ knowledge, understanding and skills in core theoretical and empirical areas of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.

As part of this innovative master’s programme students will study the fundamental theories of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as well as advanced cognitive behavioural skills.

This course welcomes students from a range of disciplines. It is aimed at those working in the medical profession, social work, psychologists, counsellors’ psychotherapists and others with experience and an interest in mental health.

Learning Environment and Assessment

Learning outcomes will be assessed on the submission of essays, presentations, practical assignments, reflective reports, case studies and standardised rating of recorded therapy sessions. Problem based learning exercises may be used to facilitate skill development.

Opportunities

Graduates of this programme may wish to progress further onto research based academic qualifications (Doctorate or PhD).
